1. Semi-Precious Stones

Authentic Turquoise

At Calli Co Silver, we are dedicated to using only the highest quality gemstones and authentic turquoise in our jewelry. We never use man-made or synthetic turquoise. Ever. We use authentic, high-quality gemstones that maintain their natural beauty and integrity.

Our other semi-precious stones (such as Lapis or Bumblebee Jasper) are ethically sourced from mines across the United States and abroad, ensuring that each jewelry piece is truly unique. When you shop with Calli Co Silver, you’re investing in a genuine, one-of-a-kind jewelry piece that honors the natural beauty and history of these exquisite stones.

Composite Stones

Our Mohave, Dahlia, and White Buffalo x Bronze collections are made with composite stones. Composite stones are created by compressing various stones and other materials together using a resin to produce vibrant and colorful cabochons. These composites are very obviously not natural. The composite cabochons we use can be identified by wild color combinations, geometric/unnatural shapes within the stone itself, or veins of metal alloys. We DO NOT use any composite turquoise or any composite that could be confused as turquoise.

2. Fine Metals

Sterling Silver Jewelry

Our traditional turquoise + sterling jewelry styles are handmade or hand-strung by Native American artists from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and other locations in the USA. We carry a dozen or so contemporary non-native styles. Our non-native silver items are made by Anglo artists in the US or plateros in Mexico. This will be noted in the item description. We do not import our jewelry from India. Each piece is made with authentic, .925 sterling silver. Our sterling silver items are stamped sterling and include the artist's signature when materials/size will allow.

Calli Co Silver curates exquisite silver pieces from talented silversmiths across North America. From stunning silver earrings and intricately designed necklaces to elegant bracelets and rings, each of our sterling pieces embodies a rich cultural heritage and unparalleled artistry.

14K Solid Gold Jewelry

While our sterling silver pieces are handmade by talented silversmiths, we want to ensure our customers understand that our new 14k solid yellow gold jewelry is artisan handmade by skilled jewelers but is not Native American made.

Unlike gold-plated or gold-filled jewelry, 14k solid yellow gold is made entirely of gold alloyed with other metals for added strength and durability. This makes it an excellent choice for everyday wear, as it resists tarnishing, maintains its luster, and can last a lifetime with proper care. 14k gold is most commonly used for diamond engagement rings and other fine jewelry items.

Gold-Filled Jewelry

At Calli Co Silver, we are committed to transparency and quality in every piece we offer. Our gold-filled jewelry provides a beautiful and affordable alternative to solid gold, featuring a layer of gold bonded to a base metal for long-lasting wear. Unlike our artisan-handmade sterling silver and solid gold jewelry, our gold-filled pieces are machine-made, ensuring consistency and durability while maintaining an elegant finish. While these pieces are not crafted by hand like our other collections, they still offer a high-quality, stylish option for those who love the look of gold at a more accessible price.

Learn more in our blog "What is Gold-filled Jewelry?" where we explain the difference between gold plated jewelry and how to properly care for this affordable alternative.

3. Where Our Jewelry Comes From

We do not import jewelry from India. Ever. Genuine Native American jewelry is deeply rooted in cultural heritage, traditional techniques, and the artistry of Indigenous communities. When foreign-made jewelry is falsely marketed as Native American, it not only undercuts Indigenous artists’ livelihoods but also devalues the authenticity and spiritual significance of their work. Additionally, many of these imported pieces are mass-produced with inferior materials, further deceiving customers who believe they are purchasing authentic, handmade Native American jewelry.

Importing jewelry from India that falsely claims to be Native American-made in the USA is highly unethical because it misleads consumers, disrespects Indigenous artisans, and violates laws like the Indian Arts and Crafts Act (IACA), which protects authentic Native American Art.

At Calli Co. Silver we believe wholeheartedly in supporting true Native American artisans, which ensures the preservation of their cultural traditions, their designs and honors the integrity of their heritage.

We source our jewelry from various places depending on the type of jewelry and metal that is used for the product.
